Kado Ramp Benefits from ACH and Plaid

Kado Ramp utilizes ACH bank transfers via Plaid to allow US users to directly get money from their bank accounts into their self-custody web3 wallets in a single transaction. Before we go too much further, let’s review the basics:

What is ACH and How Does it Work?

Basically put — Automated Clearing House (ACH) is a digital network that allows the transfer of money within the US. ACH is the electronic evolution of checks. An ACH transaction instructs member institutions to debit/credit accounts based on the details found on a physical check (e.g., account number, routing number).

Essentially, the ACH network acts as a financial postal system. Individual transactions are like letters that ACH operators sort and deliver between various banks, where each bank is acting as a post office on behalf of their respective account holders.

Kado works with Plaid, who offers a data transfer network that powers fintech and digital finance products. Plaid’s product, a technology platform, enables applications to connect with users’ bank accounts.

While ACH bank transfers are a solid option to move money in the US between banks, this process takes up to 5 days for the funds to actually settle. But not with Kado Ramp…

Why is ACH Instant Settlement Better with Kado Ramp?

While we could have gone with traditional ACH bank transfers, we chose to enable instant settlement from day 1 because it is the fastest and cheapest way for users to get money to and from where they need it. In our case, we are able to enable Kado Ramp users processing times of as little as two minutes. The ability to instantly get funds from your bank account to your crypto wallet is going to change the game.

What are the Other Guys Doing?

Traditional ACH bank transfers are what most of the leading on-ramp solutions and central exchanges use today, and they are a source of great amounts of time wasted and arduous fees. Users are unable to remove their funds from traditional on-ramps / exchanges until the funds settle after five days. This is a massive burden and opportunity cost. Crypto moves at the speed of light, and as we know — five days might as well be five years.

High speed, low fees, and self-custody is why Kado Ramp is the on-ramp for crypto-native users. Non-custodial solutions that rely on archaic solutions are fine and well for onboarding normies, but if you need to move funds from bank account→ web3 wallet, Kado Ramp is the only reasonable solution.

The Use Cases are Endless

We are here to shepherd a frictionless and fast service. The rest is up to you, to traverse the seas of web3 however you please 🙂. Purchase your favorite NFTs, top up your Anchor Earn, arbitrage tokens, LP on Osmosis, BTFD on Astroport. The world is your oyster.
